Most students visit colleges too passively. They follow the tour, hear the pitch, see the nicest part of campus, eat in the dining hall, ask a couple of generic questions, and leave with a fuzzy impression. That is not the goal. Your job is to assess five areas of "fit" on every visit:

1

Academic Fit

Will this environment challenge me the right way? Would I get personal attention, or need to fight for it?

2

Social Fit

Do the people and culture feel right? Is there one dominant mold here, or many ways to belong?

3

Support Fit

If I struggled here, would I know where to go? Do support systems seem real or just marketed?

4

Lifestyle Fit

Would I enjoy living here? Would this location energize me or wear me down?

5

Career Launch Fit

Does this place create real momentum toward internships, research, jobs, and launching a great career?
